One year has passed since Starquake Records entered the scene. Well this was a hell of a ride. Happy Birthday to all artists and the label owners – you deserve it!

Sasha Raskin – diym Netlabel

Electroacoustic. That’s the word that best describes Jerusalem-based Sasha Raskin‘s sound, a seamless blend of classical instruments and electronic noise. “Only Music” mixes breaked rhythms and synths with everything from brass and funked-out guitars to plucked violin strings and lonely saxophone lines.

For Raskin, it’s all about giving to others what music has given him.

“Music saved my life. Whether if you’re a musician or not, I guess
that in some part it did the same for you.”

Lata is the dub and electrolatino project from chilean Andrew Collyer, under which he has released music on labels such as Akwaaba (France/Ghana), Post World Industries (USA), The Rebel Sounds (Canada), Pueblo Nuevo (Chile) & Japon Records (Argentina).
Andrew lives and works in Santiago, although as a youth he lived in Arica, the chilean city closest to both Peru and Bolivia, sandwiched between the desert and the ocean. So, spending a lot time in the desert and in the ocean as a kid exposed him to the primary ideas of space, rhythm and flow. Playing every rock instrument in many bands growing up helped too. And later, going to architecture school and then working as an architect by day and making music at night sealed the deal.

Stealther – Stato Elettrico

Stealther is a Dj and producer from Rome. He collaborates with the labels Truckstop76th, for which he made several vinyl releases, and Stato Elettrico where he releases his productions as a free download. His tracks are characterized by dark and winding melodic turns that fit on the rhythm sections in 4 / 4 decided and constant. Techno and electro are the foundation of his sound construction.

Compiled and produced by Iñigo Diaz B. ”Replica” is the title of the composition specially commissioned Mario Feito pianist whose trio completed two years of weekly performances at the club five minutes. Earthquake is the theme that leads this new collection.

The Black Atlantic – Beep! Beep!

From the 29th of October until the 13th of November The Black Atlantic recorded a session in the Adirondack Mountains, upstate New York in the small town of Saranac Lake as part of the “In A Cabin With” project.
For this recording, drummer Marcel Wolthof was re-enlisted alongside singer-songwriter Kim Janssen on various instruments. Janssen co-wrote some of the songs for the recording and has permanently settled in and joined the band.
