The Candy Strypers is Paul Hughes, and this is his own presentation of himself and his music. “I’m 30, from Manchester, UK. I’ve been in love with melodic guitar pop forever, but it took me till my early twenties to pick up a guitar. I played drums in a band when I was at school, so I bought a drumkit as well, then some recording software and started writing songs. This is my first official release – I hope you enjoy it!”

Starlight Girls. Buzz go these busy bees of Brooklyn as they collect the pollen of sights and sounds to make acid-laced honey for the slutty children of corporate America. Spread it on your toast and put it in your tea. Starlight Girls borrow their retro chic from the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. One guy says it sounds like “Rainbow Brite ate acid on Halloween”. Some girl thinks “it sounds like lesbian gypsy music”. They would like to come on a European tour. Any bookers around here?

UK-based Auto-Pilot consists of Adrian Collier and Shaun Herbert, releasing together since 1995 (with interruptions) on labels such as Holophon or Syngate. According to Adrian, “The Atlantic Machine” can easily be considered their most emotional album: “I’d had a particularly tough and traumatic year and had been through a lot of emotional turmoil.”

The QualooD’s project was founded by chino.K and Kine in the 2008, after meeting during a multisensory event of electronic music, audio & video installations of the Roman’s Underground. Born with the intention of creating a sort of fusion between dark-ambient music of chino.K and the breaks and syncopated drums of Kine.

“A Nice Chilled Plate of Atmospheric Beats” is a Downtempo Album influenced by Dub, because in the last 2 years QualooD has listened to so much music in this genre. This release contains 16 tracks and is divided into 2 part, the first seven tracks are the old QualooD, then “Play + Pause (New Era)” open the road to the new QualooD, more Dub and more Smoothness and Chill.

Being an idealist is noble and deserves endorsement. That is exactly the belief of our Zurich-based artist Bernhard Gietz (better known as “Berni”), who releases wonderful tracks in between dub techno and house under this moniker (“Idealist”) since a few years on labels such as Deep In Dub or Dreiton. His latest release on Broque, the Defective Units EP, is dedicated to the little flaws, imperfections and surprises one has to face when working with analogue devices such as the ones from the Roland TB family.

mmpsuf – could be plainly labelled as an electro-acoustic project. It is made of layers of vocals, harmony, electronic off-beat and steady rhythms, all of which strangely make sense. But the beauty behind this lies in the imagery, spaces and stories, which emerge with it — all so simple but so real.

mmpsuf amalgamate two creators Egle Sirvydyte and Aivaras Ruzgas. Both of them are quite known underground music figures in Vilnius.
