If you have heard Rubinskee live, you know what to expect: banging floor-filling tunes, and hook filled dance anthems full of electronic funk. When it comes to electronic dance music, Rubinskee is some kind of Renaissance Man, and for "Telurico", he bares his passion for early eighties' Disco and High Energy. Starting with a stellar remix from Konfort's own Cri Kong (one half of Senor Mandril), and rising the bar for another four originals, Telurico is warrantied to bring dancefloors to a state of hedonistic frenzy, unseen since the last days of disco. They used to call it Garage, you may still call it Electro House, but Rubinskee is in a league all of his own.

ZGress - Untitled

There can't be too many of ZGress' label mates who request that their record goes up when Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." is still in the popular conscious of the listener. So rather disturbingly, I have to now hope that you still recall that release, late in 2009.

The reference refers to the third track on this Untitled EP, called "Dance Party", whose repeated chorus, "this is not a Nashville party" will undoubtably stick in your head as much as the aforementioned Miss Cyrus... although you will of course maintain your 'cool points'.

That track is cemented between some more sturdy ZGress work, "DP Show Television Theme", which starts off as a childlike television ode, before going off on a tangent that a lot of avant-garde musicians would be proud of, the slow "Sad Songs" has a solo that would not be too out of place on a Mort Garson plant ballad, and the more upbeat but equally fulfilling "Let's Stop".

In mid-2008, indie duo, Hungry Lucy were recording weekly podcasts and had finished writing songs for their 4th full-length release. By all accounts, things were going well for the band. Popularity was at an all-time high, and their music was selling nicely across the globe. From the inside though, Hungry Lucy had become more about social media, and less about the kind of great songs the pair loved to write. Gone was the mystery, spark and creativity that once burned bright for Christa Belle and Warren Harrison. With that, the couple ceased podcasting, scrapped most of of the nearly-complete album and immersed themselves in making something truly magical. Now, in early 2010… "Pulse of the Earth" is released to the World.

On "Pulse of the Earth" Christa and Warren cast aside all expectations and spent time isolated in the mountains of Tennessee and away from the World. With no outside disturbances the duo were able to ignore trends and dive headlong into the art of storytelling. From these stories were born 10 songs of mystery, other-worldly beings and the spirit of the earth. As always, Hungry Lucy crosses genres at a moments notice, while somehow maintaining a cohesive vision. Christa Belle's haunting voice digs deep and soars high above a bed of gypsy melodies, ominous drones and tribal rhythms. At once ambient, catchy and full of drama, these 10 songs will get inside you, settle within and bring you in sync with the pulse of the earth.

JTREP07

After their undying classic album from 2007/09 Bo Marley are finally back with a vengeance - and a massive ghettoblaster! Always ready to rock your backyard, street corner or..er..local super market (as done in THIS legendary surprise attack last year in Leipzig) the Harlev homeboys are once again powering up their Chariot Of Fire (aka. the Bo mobil) and drop a floor-devastating cassette here that effortlessly rolls up electrifying beats, short-wired robo-magic and a voltage drenched low-rider bass into one big, long...masterpiece.

The patented Bo space-lyrics in German/Danish warp mode are again dealing with the big timeless themes of our age: rocking it on stage (Wir Setzt Den Trend), rolling along with the Bo mobil (Rollen Vorbei), the joys of
driving a scooter (Mofa Fahren) and Robot Cars ("with volt power - yeah!"). Kaptain Dreck joins the posse for one tune here, with a fistful of rhymes that would even impress He-Man himself.

So better be quick and get one of the ultra-limited collectors edition cassettes (with Fe-tape for Xtra Bass!) HERE before they're gone to the junk. Only 50 (!)for the world!

Or simply download the whole epic HERE with the flick of a wrist.

Martin Akeret will release his already sixth Popshop album on 26th february 2010. We cut back in his musical history to reduce the waiting period for the new creation with the harmonious title A Warm Place Without Memory. Wider Willen Money is part of the further three albums using his old alias Drama respectively Drama Martini. These 15 tracks appear like a lost treasure with their timeless pretension after almost ten years. impulsive and nevertheless spherical electronica which juggles between elaborate sample arrangements and straight-line techno pop. If somebody wants to regenerate his auditory canals - probably because of the damages of the eurobeat - should choose a record like Wider Willen Money with his also inventive song titles.
