ISMAEL DUEÑAS "De vuit a nou (inspiració d’Ismael Dueñas)" (Marcel Dueñas)
JOAN DÍAZ "Embranco (inspiració de Joan Díaz)" (Clara Díaz)

IN-FUSION "Tu-tu-pà" (Miquel Reñé)
GILBERTO GIL "Máquina de ritmo" (Gilberto Gil)

Via cultura lliure

FOBSIC and the group Enderrock present the world’s first compilation of Jazz with a Creative
Commons license.

The Free Music II CD includes the original recordings of eleven Catalan artists and one of Brazil’s Minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil.

The group Enderrock, which is the editor of music magazines such as Enderrock, Jaç and Folc, have promoted the recording of a second collective CD with a Creative Commons license.
The Free Music II CD is a compilation of twelve original pieces that go from experimental jazz,
contemporary jazz, be-hop, fusion, progression rock and electro-jazz. Songs are performed by
eleven Catalan artists (IEP!, Elisabet Raspall, Karion, Muzak, in-fusion, Ismael Duenas, Nagano
5.0, Joan Diaz, Free Spirit 500mg, La orquesta de la Muerte and Kunta Kintet). There is also a
song given by the musician and Brazil’s Minister of culture, Gilberto Gil (“Rhythm machine”).
This song was actually recorded by the minister of Culture, Gil, in one of the so called “Pontos de
Cultura”, a telecenter based on free software created to facilitate the creation of digital culture for
all citizens, especially those with lower income.

The first European experience in this regard was the CD Free Music (FOBSIC, 2006) which was
distributed last April as enclosed in the magazine Enderrock. The CD contained songs from twenty
pop rock and folk groups from Catalonia as well as a theme from Gilberto Gil as a guest.

This is the first worldwide jazz compilation with a Creative Commons license to be published just
after the American magazine Wired published and distributed a pop music album with a Creative
Commons license in autumn 2005. The Jazz CD Free Music II, has been enclosed in each of the
7,000 issues of the Jaç#11 magazine for the months from June to September.

The compilation of the CD is part of a project to show new ways of finding a common point
between the distribution of songs and the copyright.
Both CDs can be downloaded in free software format .ogg and also .mp3 from the website
